Why is my computer SO slow after I click?

I have Windows Vista and every time I left click on anything the timer is suspended for about 30 seconds to a minute.The little circle just stops and I have to keep left clicking over and over to get it to move and continue opening up the page or site. If I don’t keep left clicking it just stops and hangs in limbo until I reclick like at least 5 times. Any ideas or better yet a solution?
I clean my computer with internet tools and CC cleaner so I know it is not that.
I have 2 gigs of memory and this has started within the past 2 months. The computer is about 9 months old.

try using firefox instead of IE. Its quicker at loading web pages, has more features, and is a better browser. Im pretty confident doing that will fix your problem.

Oh, and you might want to check the settings on your security software. Sometimes if your AV and firewall arent set up properly it can slow down your internet performance.
