Microsoft Office Tasks Tutorial
Looking for suggestions for open source learning in corporate environment.?
I am thinking about setting up a kind of wiki site, or maybe a forum where any users at work can post tech or software questions, and others can respond with answers, or followup questions. I am trying to help spread the wealth of knowledge in our company, and so many people lack the most basic office skills. I would create a few tutorials for various tasks, and be the main support person. But I want anyone to be able to chime in. I am trying to set this up via our Microsoft Outlook Bulletin Board, which is internal to our company. But I am open to suggestions. what types of websites do this already, is there some open source option that would be particularly suited for this purpose?
I appreciate any ideas or comments, not just answers. I will still rate the best responses.
Thanks!
Nate
It depends on what kind of server you have and what server-side scripting it supports.
If it supports PHP then something like PHPBB – http://www.phpbb.com/ should work. Another option is to use MediaWiki – http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download
If you’re using SharePoint then the tools for creating “how to’s” and chat boards are already built in.
If you’d like to use an external forum then http://www.proboards.com/ are pretty good.
Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collaborative_software for some more ideas.
