Microsoft Office Notebook Template

What is the best program / more useful for taking lecture notes in class on a MacBook?

I recently bought a macbook and bought iWorks 08 for him. I really like the notebook "model in Microsoft Office Mac, but I do not want to pay an additional $ 140 to get the full version of it. There some way to get a notebook as a model in the iWorks? If not, what do you recommend? I mainly just want something I can easily enter notes, and follow by date and subject for my different classes. Being able to search through the notes for specfic information and be able to easily print them, it would be good too. I mention enjoying the notebook model in Microsoft Office Word for Mac, because it seems really easy to use / install. I'd love to hear all the experiences and suggestions about the programs, or perhaps something similar that will not cost me over $ 100 ...... Thank you!

I have a Mac too, but I bought the thing for Microsoft Office. I do not know any better, but trust me, its worth it.
