Windows Xp Startup Disk Iso
Linux users, please help?
OK I just downloaded and burned an Ubuntu ISO to a disk. The only thing is I have Windows XP and partition 1 80 gig hard drive dedicated to Windows XP. Now I would like to install Linux with this disc, but when I load the disc and go into ubuntu, how do I partition Ubuntu to install would also like to dual boot XP or Ubuntu at startup any tips would be fantastic.
When you select "Install" menu boot (8.04), you will be asked a series of questions, such as your name, password, etc. .. There will be a phase partitioning, with three options. 1. Guided - Use entire disk. DO NOT select this option if you want to dual-boot. 2. Guided - resize partition sda1. Drag the slider to give more or less space for Ubuntu. 3. Manual - This is for users who know partition and what they want with it. I would ignore it, since you is a beginner. After resizing the partition, continue with the installation. Ubuntu will install to the free space on hard drive and install the boot boot loader. This causes a menu at startup where you can choose which operating system you want to run.
