Windows Xp Active Desktop Recovery

what the hell?

Today i was changing my computer desktop background. All of a sudden the desktop went all white with a message saying "Active desktop recovery". I clicked were it says "restore my active desktop" but a message come out saying error. This is freaking me out. I ran a full scan but nothing came out. Any solutions? oh and i have a Windows Xp profesional.
