Windows Xp Crashed Here’s Help
Someone can cure my Vista PC AVI allergy? Pleeeease?
My Vista computer suffers a failure rather strange. It blocks the programs, Rundll32, and substitute When a COM. avi,. mpg or. MPEG file is displayed in an Explorer window (Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer. It all started when I installed the Pinnacle Studio 8, a software that workeds fine in our old XP. (yes, I bought at the time) since our computer has had this strange (and sometimes serious) "allergy". Here's my question: How do I cure the "allergy"? I do it without factory reset my PC? or is it nesscesary? PLEASE HELP! SCN-No wrong with that, as far as I know. Pinnacle Studio 8, a program compatible with Vista, apparently, did. I remember putting some of the old drivers on my pc. If I could have a list of all the drivers for the Pinnacle Studio 8, then that could help. I have all these except cccleaner. I will get that one.
Try scanning for infections, delete cache, running a defragmentation and file cleanup and see how to get there. I would try VLC Media Player [free] to your media http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ If you think you have to try that infections - Perform quick scan with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then restart and run the full scan and restart again. Make sure your anti-virus software is updated, if you do not have one I recommend Avast Home Edition for free http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html or NOD32 If you do not mind paying http://www.eset.com/ Some software that I recommend you running downloads are: - Malwarebytes Anti-malware http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html SUPERAntiSpyware Spybot Search and Destroy Select http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html the free versions, if applicable. I also recommend running ccleaner http://ccleaner.com every day to clean up the garbage "has 2 scans, and registry cleaner, remove or correct all what he thinks, but re-register until nothing is detected. Please ensure you check for updates before running these tools. After a malware attack and clean it is always a good idea to turn off System Restore, reboot, change it back, create a new restore point then restart again. Hope this helps. NB: Tip - If you find that you are unable to run a program, for example: mbam-setup.exe trying to change it to something random like 5488gdhrf.exe and try again.
