Windows Xp Sata Drivers Usb

How do I boot XP from USB?

I'm trying to install Windows XP on my laptop. My CD drive is messed up, and not properly burn CDs, so I am forced to load the XP disk to a USB drive and install from there. Since my hard drive is SATA, I had to use nLite to stick my driver disk in XP. When I try to boot from the USB drive, it will not let me. Is there anything I have to do, how to write the image to my car or something?
