pls help after reinstalling windows xp home edition sp 2. i am having problem with internet conn?

my usb and touchpad was not working,tried everything then decided to reinstall windows from the cds i had got during the purchase of the dell laptop inspiron 6400. Now i cannot connect my broadband connection, the local area network does not work, i think there is a driver missing. i tried everything , pls help if u can; thank u
