Windows vista and broadband wont work!?

Ok so i have just bought a pakard bell for my birthday with windows vista home basic an geforce 7500 1gb of ram but wont connect the the net so i started installing my wlan drivers there done but it wont find any networks im gona take of my mums wireless router but it wont connect to eachother so i installed the broadband disk that it came with and it wont work! it apparently hates vista and i cant accses the net so is there any vista drivers for a pakard bell for ntl : broadband? i would like to here from you guys asap

The Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) is a list of hardware devices that have successfully passed the Hardware Compatibility Tests. All hardware on the HCL works with Windows Vista. Hardware not included on the HCL is not guaranteed to work successfully with Windows Vista.

Check it out for the router, if it is not on the list you may have to replace it. There also might be an updated driver from the manufacturer of the router.
